Basketball:

Maryland has offered five-star 2016 New Jersey shooting guard Tyus Battle.

Mark Turgeon was in attendance to watch five-star Montrose Christian guard Allonzo Trier.

Four-star power forward Esa Ahmad picked up offers from Texas Tech and Penn State.

Three-star shooting guard Chris Clarke picked up an offer from Minnesota.

Three-star point guard Justin Robinson picked up offers from Illinois, Memphis and George Washington.

Football:

As you've probably seen from our recent interviews with prospects, Testudo Times was able to stop by the DC Nike workout and see some top prospects in action.

Some notes from prospects we didn't do a write-up on:

Four-star offensive tackle Matthew Burrell said he didn't want to single anyone out, but when asked about the Terps said: "I love Maryland. Damian Prince committed there, he's a good friend of mine, inspired me a lot, you know, I work out like him, you know, to be on that same level. But at the same time, you know, I'm my own player, and they let me know that, and I really just like coach Johnson and coach Edsall and his staff."

Blue-chip 2016 Virginia cornerback Levonta Taylor visited College Park this week, and had high praise for the Terps: "Maryland came out to my school on Friday and wanted me to come see the campus. I know they've got a good offense - I can play both. They're doing good things on defense, they've got all the swag. It's going to be crazy to see them [in the Big Ten] - a lot of folks sleep on the Big Ten."

Five-star Virginia defensive tackle Tim Settle had an interesting talk with our friend Bud Elliott, saying Maryland had not even offered and that it's a little late in the process for them.

Whole ton of new offers, as a new contact period has begun. All players are Class of 2015 unless noted otherwise.
