Maryland Lacrosse Gamethread: Maryland vs Notre Dame

Come discuss this afternoons big game in South Bend, where the #7 Terps are in big need of a victory over the #8 Irish

Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

After last weekends ugly 11-6 loss to Johns Hopkins at Homewood Field, in which the Terps played their worst game of the season, Maryland is in big need of a bounce back victory this afternoon against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Here's your place to discuss that and more.

If you haven't already read it, (lone shameless plug) here's my preview for this afternoon's game: Maryland Lacrosse Preview

Maryland comes into this game at 9-2 (3-1 ACC), and ranked #7 in the media poll and #5 in the coaches poll. Notre Dame is 6-4 (2-2 ACC), and ranked #8 in both polls.

This is the biggest game of the season for both teams. Maryland is in desperate need of a victory to re-energize their now sputtering season. And Notre Dame is in the position Hopkins was last week. In need of a "marquee win" as they sit firmly on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament. This game also effects ACC Tournament seedings. Ironically, either way these teams will face each other Friday at PPL Park. If Maryland wins, they are the #1 seed and win a share of the ACC Regular Season title. Notre Dame would be the #4 seed. If Notre Dame wins, they are the #2 seed and Maryland drops to the #3 seed.

And lastly, leave some predictions

Who wins? And why?

Who leads Maryland in goals?

How many goals are scored total?

Here's how to watch today's game:

When: Noon ET

Where: Arlotta Stadium, South Bend In.

How: ESPNU

If you can't get to a TV, we'll have updates as we go along. If you can and just want to stop by and discuss the game, feel free. Either way, root on the Terps vs the Fighting Irish.
