Maryland Lacrosse Gamethread: Maryland vs Hopkins

Come discuss this afternoons showdown in Baltimore, where Maryland takes on Johns Hopkins

Winslow Townson

After a nice 10 day break, the Terps are back in action today against their arch-rival Johns Hopkins at Homewood Field in Baltimore. Here's your place to discuss that and more.

If you haven't already read it, (lone shameless plug) here's my preview for this afternoon's game: http://www.testudotimes.com/2014/4/11/5602014/maryland-mens-lacrosse-preview-lacrosses-greatest-rivalry-returns

Maryland comes into the game at 9-1 (3-1 in the ACC), and ranked #3 in both the media and coaches polls. Johns Hopkins is 6-3, ranked #8 in the media poll, and #9 in the coaches poll.

This is one of, if not the biggest game of the year for both teams. Maryland could reach double digit wins on the season, and continue to build momentum towards the ACC Tournament in just under two weeks. Hopkins needs to win one of their games vs Maryland and Loyola to get in the tournament in my opinion. Some are saying they need both, I think they just need one. Lose both, and it's likely the Blue Jays are missing out on The Big Barbecue for the second straight year. A win today would be huge for the rest of their season.

And lastly, leave some predictions

Who wins? And why?

Who leads Maryland in goals?

How many goals are scored total?

Face-Off is set for 2 PM on ESPNU. If you can't get to a TV, here's your stop to follow along. If you can and just want to stop by, feel free. Either way, come root on the Terps vs Johns Hopkins.
