NCAA tournament schedule: Maryland vs. Tennessee game time, TV schedule, live radio streaming, odds and more

The Terrapins seek their fifth Elite Eight appearance under head coach Brenda Frese, but must get past No. 1-seeded Tennessee on Sunday to advance.

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

The Terrapins face the Tennessee Volunteers on Sunday in Louisville, Ky. in Sweet Sixteen action. The Terps cruised past Army in the first round, moving on to win a tighter contest against Texas on Tuesday, 69-64.

This will be the Terps' first tournament game away from home this season, as Maryland hosted the first two rounds at the Comcast Center in College Park. The neutral floor will not be the only difference, as Tennessee presents more talent than the previous two opponents as a No. 1 seed led by senior Meighan Simmons who has recorded over 2,000 points in her college career.

Fortunately, the Terps have a member of that club on their roster in three-time ACC Player of the Year Alyssa Thomas, who recently passed Juan Dixon as the all-time leading scorer in Maryland history, now with 2,287 career points.

The numbers

Rankings and records: The No. 4-seeded Terps (26-6, 12-4 ACC) finished tied for second in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The No. 1-seeded Tennessee Volunteers (29-5, 13-3) ended their season in the same position, behind South Carolina in the SEC. Tennessee has won their last three games against Maryland, leading the all-time series 10-3.
