Alyssa Thomas passes Juan Dixon as all-time top-scoring Terp

Thomas surpasses one of Maryland's all-time greats to further cement her place in Terrapin history.

Maryland basketball now has a new all-time scoring leader.

With a free throw in the first half of Maryland's first round NCAA Tournament game against Army, senior forward Alyssa Thomas has passed Juan Dixon's school record of 2,269 points, becoming the all-time leading scorer in Terrapin history.

Thomas surpassed Crystal Langhorne's program record of 2,247 points earlier this season, in an ACC Tournament game against North Carolina. She was able to pass Dixon's record in College Park, as the fourth-seeded Terps are hosting their opening round matchup against No. 13 seed Army.

In her time with the Terrapins, Thomas won three straight ACC Player of the Year Awards, and was named to an all-conference team in each of her four years in College Park.

A hearty congratulations to Thomas, who has firmly cemented herself as one of the top athletes in Maryland history in any sport, and one of the greatest collegiate basketball players of all time.
