Maryland vs. Duke: Game time, TV schedule, live radio streaming, odds and more

Both teams are looking good early in the season and find themselves at the top of the polls looking down at everyone else. But when Maryland and Duke meet there's no need for top rankings to help produce excitement and motivation.

If I told you that the No. 2-ranked Maryland men's lacrosse team had a chance to claim the top spot in the national polls this weekend in front of its home crowd, that might get you excited. If I said in order to do so they will have to beat arch rival and No. 1-ranked Duke in their last regular season ACC battle ever, well, that might just make you clear your calendar and say, "I must witness this!"

Maryland started off the season ranked No. 6 in the national polls but has steadily been climbing up the ranks after starting off 3-0 and earning and impressive win over then-ranked No. 2 Syracuse last weekend. Duke has been the consensus No. 1-ranked squad all year, but that would all change if Maryland can pull of the upset on Saturday. This will be the Terps' 27th meeting with teams that are ranked No. 1 since 1978. So far, they have pulled off the upset eight times, but perhaps none would be sweeter than number nine if it's at the expense of the Blue Devils.

The numbers

Rankings and records: It's an early regular-season showdown of the nation's top teams. Duke (4-0) enters the game ranked No.1 and Maryland (3-0, 1-0 ACC) No.2. These two teams have played each other 81 times and the Terps hold a 60-21 edge. In a series that dates back to 1940, Maryland's 61 wins against Duke are the most against any opponent.
