Maryland had to fend off recruiting by Virginia (which is usually solid) and a set of twins' desire to play together, but they have officially landed cornerback Daniel Ezeagwu for their 2014 recruiting class, as he signed his letter of intent to be a Terp.

The 6-feet-2, 200-pound defensive back from Colonial Forge High School in Stafford, Va., received heavy interest from the Cavaliers and even considered playing for a few Football Championship Subdivision schools in order to potentially play with his twin brother David, before deciding to commit to Maryland via Twitter on January 26. He was the 16th member to commit to the 2014 class.

The 247sports composite rates him as a three-star recruit, the 87th-best cornerback in the nation, and the 31st-best player in the state of Virginia.
His 40-yard dash time is listed at 4.40 and he also played wide receiver and returned kicks in high school, which should speak to his athletic ability and versatility.

Besides the offers from Maryland and Virginia, Ezeagwu also claimed offers from James Madison, Old Dominion, and Towson. Additional interest came from Richmond and Virginia Tech.
With the departure of seniors Dexter McDougle and Isaac Goins in the Terps' secondary, Ezeagwu may have seen a good opportunity to contribute right away at Maryland.
If Ezeagwu's hometown of Stafford, Va., rings a bell to any Terp fans, that may be because it is also where McDougle and former Terp wide receiver Torrey Smith are from. Both went to Stafford Senior High School.
