Maryland vs. North Carolina: Game time, TV schedule, live radio streaming, odds and more

Maryland travels to Chapel Hill for one final hurrah in this historic ACC rivalry.

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

The Terps head off to Chapel Hill one last time for what is the biggest game of the season thus far for Maryland. Riding a two-game win streak with a home win over Miami followed by a win at Virginia Tech, Maryland needs to keep up their recent success to try to build up their currently weak resume, and a win at the Dean Dome would do just that. This game is the first of a very crucial stretch for Maryland, and a win over the Tar Heels would keep this much needed momentum going.

North Carolina enters into the showdown with Maryland on a three-game winning streak, with wins against Clemson, at Georgia Tech and local rival North Carolina State. Having not lived up to preseason expectations, North Carolina also needs to win this game to solidify their tournament resume.

Unfortunately, North Carolina will not be making the trip to College Park this year, meaning this is the final scheduled game between two long-time ACC rivals. North Carolina is considered by many of the Maryland faithful to be their second-to-least favorite school, and it is sad to see this rivalry go by the wayside. Let's enjoy the Terrapins and Tar Heels one last time and hope we meet again in the ACC tournament and future Big Ten/ACC Challenges.

The numbers

Rankings and records: Neither team is ranked. Maryland has a 13-9 record (5-4 and sixth in the ACC) and North Carolina stands at 14-7 (4-4 and seventh in the ACC). Last year, Maryland and North Carolina played three times, including once in the ACC tournament, with the Tar Heels winning all three matchups. Maryland last defeated North Carolina on February 7, 2010 at the Comcast Center by the score of 92-71. North Carolina leads the all-time series between the programs 121-57.

Vegas: Maryland is a nine point underdog.
