Coming off a win that almost wasn't against Miami, this is about as early of a must win as the Terps can have, as they look to keep momentum going and secure another ACC win when they take on the Hokies this Saturday in Blacksburg. Maryland has struggled to win on the road this season, and Virginia Tech has struggled to win period. The two teams seem to be meddling through the conference this year, without a real chance to contend with the big dogs at the top.
But no team wants to be the runt of the litter by finishing last in the ACC -- a position currently occupied by the Hokies -- and there is still a lot of season left and plenty for these teams to play for. Both teams allow 69.2 points per game, but the Terps score about four more points a game on average and should be able to take advantage on the boards. Regardless of the outcome, the two teams will meet again this season on March, 4, in College Park
