Maryland-Bowie State: Gamethread

Come talk about the last fake game before real games really begin!

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sport

After a long, weird offseason the Terrapin basketball team finally took the court last Saturday for a scrimmage against the San Fransisco State Gators and prevailed 86-52. The biggest takeaways were the impressive play of Maryland's newcomers, especially Melo Trimble, who led all scorers with 19 points while dishing out five assists.

Today, they face a stiffer test with MASSIVE INSTATE RIVAL Division II Bowie State. "Throw out the records when the Terps and Bulldogs face off," as they say. Who are they? I don't know, but we should listen. They are usually right.

According to the BSU athletics website, their basketball team was picked to finish first CIAA's (Central Intercollegiate Athletic's Association) Northern Division this season. Junior Forward Andre Jackson, from Baltimore, is their best returning player and a pre-season All-CIAA selection. He loves macaroni and cheese, math, playing the drums and idolizes Brandon Jennings, again, according to their team site. Use this information to impress your friends and loved ones.

Maryland should win, maybe by a lot, but as we discussed last week, if they don't it's okay because this doesn't count.

Here are some things to read about Maryland basketball before (or during????) the game:
