Dez Wells, you may have noticed, is good at dunking a basketball. When he came to Maryland, he was already known as a tremendous dunker, and in two years as a Terp he's dazzled home and road crowds alike with his throwdowns.
I mean, he did this at his first Maryland Madness, so you knew we were in for a show.
Now a senior, Dez isn't done, of course. But in honor of the start of the season, let's take a look at his most memorable dunks from his first two years in College Park.
#10 - Two-handed jam off a behind-the-back pass
This dunk came in the opening round of the 2013 ACC Tournament. Down 35-30 at halftime, Dez scored nine of the Terps first 11 points coming out of the locker room -- including this sweet sequence. (March 14, 2013)
#9 - Rising up in Blacksburg
This dunk put the Terps up 54-40 on the way to a 20-point Maryland win. Dez had 19 in the game, even after not starting. (Feb. 1, 2014)
#8 - Left hand? No problem
From that same ACC Tournament game, just minutes later. And with his opposite hand. No big deal, right? (March 14, 2013)
#7 - This is not Quinn Cook's city
This dunk doesn't have as high a degree of difficulty as the others, but it's arguably one of the most important plays he's ever had as a Terp. With Maryland leading Duke by five and just over five minutes left to play, Dez picked off Quinn Cook's pass and shook Comcast Center to its core. (Feb. 16, 2013)
#6 - One-handed dunk over Florida State
The most recent one on the list, this one came the last time the Terps played a game that counted (and which we otherwise don't speak of). It came off a turnover and gave Maryland a one-point lead, two of 18 points for Dez on the day. (March 13, 2014)
#5 - Doesn't stick the landing, gets a 10 anyway
A cross-court pass from Seth Allen lets Dez go airborne against Virginia Tech at home. He takes a tumble into the photographer area on the way down. (March 4, 2014)
#4 - Right down the middle
Yes, that's four Yellow Jacket defenders that Dez goes by to slam this one home, helped by a screen from Shaq Cleare. Wells had 11 points on the day in a 77-61 win to open the new year. (Jan. 4, 2014)
#3 - Blowing by the UVA defense
Justin Anderson proves to be no problem for Dez Wells as he powers his way through traffic to the rim for the one-handed slam. (March 10, 2013)
#2 - Backdoor reversal against Duke
Remember that time Dez went off for 30 points in the ACC Tourney semifinal win over Duke? Yeah, that was fun. So was this early reverse dunk behind Ryan Kelly. (March 15, 2013)
#1 - One-handed Tomahawk
This dunk came at the end of non-conference play, against Delaware State in his sophomore season. The Delaware State player even backs off trying to take a charge and just lets Dez do Dez. (Dec. 29, 2012)
Get ready, Big Ten.
