Maryland vs. Monmouth gamethread

Sit down and relax after all that black Friday shopping and talk Terps basketball with us!

Maryland takes on the Monmouth Hawks Friday night at the XFINITY Center at 7:00 P.M. There are two huge story lines for Maryland this evening, in what would otherwise probably be a rather uneventful non-conference contest. Maryland will be without star guard Dez Wells, who we learned today injured his wrist and will be out for four weeks. But Maryland will get back forward Even Smotrycz, who will reportedly make his debut tonight after dealing with a foot injury that happened before the start of the season.

Losing Wells is a huge blow for a Maryland team that appears to be the best team Mark Turgeon has had during his tenure in College Park. Maryland will have relatively easy games tonight and Sunday to try to workout a line up and rotation without their senior leader, but then faces arguably their best opponent to date when Virginia visits Maryland Wednesday for the B1G-ACC Challenge.
