Maryland-Penn State GameThread

Maryland makes its first visit to Beaver Stadium in 22 years.

Mike McGinnis

The Maryland football team is in Happy Valley today, for a noon date at Beaver Stadium with new Big Ten divisional foe Penn State. The game kicks off at noon ESPN2.

The Terps are 1-35-1 all-time against Penn State, though the teams haven't played at all since October 1993 or at this stadium since even a year before that.

I've made the three-and-a-half-hour trip, so our coverage today will come from the stadium's press box. We'll have updates here and on Twitter throughout the game and afterward. We have a StoryStream up on the front page, wherein you can find all of our coverage of the ballgame.

Here's the view from upstairs:

Maryland (5-3, 2-2 Big Ten) lost, 52-7, at Wisconsin last week. Penn State (4-3, 1-3) lost in double overtime here in State College, 24-17, to an Ohio State team that easily dispatched Maryland a month ago.

As you get ready for kickoff, here's some reading material to tide you over:
