Romelo Trimble selected for the 2014 McDonald's All American game

Maryland basketball commit Romelo Trimble, a 6-2 point guard out of Bishop O'Connell High School in Arlington, VA, has been named to the roster for the 2014 McDonald's All American game. He will join 23 other men, along with 24 women, selected for the game on April 3rd at the United Center in Chicago.

He will be the first male McDonald's All American to attend Maryland since Mike Jones in 2003, and the first local recruit since DeMatha Catholic's Travis Garrison in 2002. Famously, the 2002 national champion Terrapins are the only team in the 35 year history of the McDonald's All American team to win a title without a selectee.

According to the 247 Sports composite, he is the 33rd-best overall player in the class of 2014 and the fourth ranked point guard.

Notably, the selection committee for the game is chaired by Morgan Wootten, father of Trimble's high school coach Joe Wootten.

Trimble was a 1st team Washington Post All-Met player as a junior, as well as the DMVElite Player of the Year. So far this season, he is averaging 23 points per game, and has single-handedly kept O'Connell in the WCAC title race.
