Maryland will look to build off of the momentum they have gained from their win against Notre Dame, their biggest thus far in the season, as they travel to Raleigh, NC to take on North Carolina State. The Terps go back on the road, hoping to avoid their recent woes away from home in the games against Pittsburgh and Florida State. North Carolina State has dropped their last three games; a blowout loss to Virginia, a single point defeat at Wake Forest and a beating by local foe Duke at Cameron Indoor. The Wolfpack will want to turn their fortune around after lackluster performances in two of their last three games.
With no rematch scheduled in College Park between these two teams, this will be the only meeting for them this season. Maryland and North Carolina State have played at least once every season since 1955, but with Maryland leaving the ACC for the Big Ten after this season, this may be the Terrapins' final trip to Raleigh and the last game between these two charter members of the ACC.
Rankings and records: Neither team is ranked. Maryland holds an 11-7 record (3-2 and tied for fifth in the ACC) and North Carolina State currently stands at 11-7 (1-4 and tied for last in the ACC). Last season these teams only met once, with the Terps winning a one point thriller, 51-50. The last time Maryland traveled to PNC Arena was in 2011, which saw the Terrapins leave Raleigh with a 79-74 loss. Maryland leads the all-time series, holding a 62-47 record against the Wolfpack.
Vegas: Maryland is a two point underdog.
