Maryland recruiting roundup: Jalen Tabor to decide Thursday

Not much going on this week, except for the main event later on.

First, basketball:

Three-star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell took unofficial visits to Florida and Connecticut.

Now, for football:

Five-star D.C. cornerback Jalen Tabor announces his college destination Thursday, with all signs pointing to Alabama. It would be a terrible loss for Maryland, who seemingly had a strong lead with the prospect for three years (to the point where he was recruiting other kids to go to Maryland). Even with Damian Prince as the higher-rated prospect, Tabor has long been considered Maryland's "white whale," just due to the long nature of his recruitment. If it plays out the way people are guessing, that will be a huge disappointment for the Terps.

Add another name to the list of potential 2014 running back options -- Taurus Phillips, a 5'9" speedster from Beacon, N.Y. with an offer from Villanova and interest from Nebraska.
