On their first ACC road trip of 2013-2014, the Terrapins went from good to bad to worse.
The good: After showing some signs of life in three consecutive home wins including taking down Georgia Tech to up their record to 2-0 in league play, Maryland hit the road with a bit of optimism. Initially it looked well founded. The Terps hung with the Panthers and held a three point lead with under six minutes to play in the first half.
The bad: Pitt went on an 11-2 run to close the half before swamping Maryland by twenty.
The worse: The trip to Tallahassee. Florida State rained a deluge of threes on the floundering Terps who couldn't bail quickly enough and the ship went down to an embarrassing 24 point defeat.
Tonight the Notre Dame Fighting Irish come to town as the Terps look to float back toward the top of the ACC standings. The Irish pose a different set of challenges for Maryland. They are neither as physical nor as stout defensively as Pitt and FSU. However, they are one of the better shooting teams in the league and second only to Duke scoring nearly 79 points per game. This is a game Maryland can win if they find the defensive will to do so.
