This is more of a year in review for 2013, overall would we say it was a good year for Maryland? I'm not so sure. I know I'm not panicked about the future, but I don't think I'm as confident as I was heading into 2013.
Stock Rising:
Wide Receiving corps -- This group is insanely deep and extremely talented. After the loss of Deon Long and Stefon Diggs the others (Nigel King, Levern Jacobs and Amba Etta-Tawo) stepped up in their absence. We knew this was a strength on the team, but my word, this group is deep.
C.J. Brown -- The quarterback is poised for a big 2014 if he can stay healthy. His ability to keep defenses off-guard with his speed is a huge asset.
Seth Allen -- He's back and that can only be a good thing.
Stock Holding:
Randy Edsall -- So much for him being fired if he lost the bowl game? I don't know if we can keep making excuses for him, but he did have another year of massive injuries and won 7 games.
Mark Turgeon -- I'm not ready to give up on him, as some here have, but I'm starting to worry. Still, he has a very talented class coming in next year and Roddy Peters has gotten more confident as the year has progressed.
Stock Falling:
The Offensive Line -- I wasn't expecting a ton out of the line this year, but Mike Madaras struggled -- and then left. Hopefully the addition of the freshmen next year help. I'll admit I'm more than a bit nervous about relying on them though.
"Depth" -- Maryland was supposed to be 10-deep on the basketball team, but sometimes it feels like they can only rely on a couple guys. It feels like the bigs have regressed, too.
Injuries -- I don't know how to explain it and no one else can either. The football team might be cursed.
