After a six-catch, 179-yard performance against Old Dominion Saturday, Stefon Diggs has been rewarded by being named the ACC's wide receiver of the week.
Diggs's game was highlighted by a 41-yard second quarter touchdown, when he caught a screen pass and blew by five Monarch defenders on the way to a score, and a fantastic leaping grab he made that set up a five-yard C.J. Brown touchdown run.
Diggs is Maryland's first weekly conference honoree this season. It was a career-high in receiving yards for the sophomore, who said after the game that he played "okay". When asked to rank the game among his Terrapin moments so far, he responded "I'm still young, so I hope I'll have better games than that". All signs point to plenty more of those games from Diggs in the future.
His 179 yards receiving were the most by a Terrapin receiver since Torrey Smith had 224 against North Carolina State in 2010.
