Maryland vs. Old Dominion score update: Terrapins continue to dominate, lead 31-3 at half

Visiting Old Dominion continues to look overmatched in College Park, as the Maryland Terrapins hold a SCORE lead heading into the half.

Old Dominion managed to drive down to the goal line, but Maryland's defense came up with their third interception of the game. Marcus Whitfield tipped a third down pass at the line, and true freshman linebacker Yannick Ngakoue came up with his first career pick. It was Maryland's fourth interception of the season - tying their total from all of 2012.

Later in the quarter, Maryland drove 97 yards on a nine-play drive that put the game seemingly out of reach. Brandon Ross ran six times for 46 yards, caught a pass for six more, all setting up the Stefon Diggs show. Diggs caught a short pass on the right side, blowing by countless Monarch defenders before diving into the end zone for the remarkable 41-yard score. Maryland took a 24-3 lead with under six minutes to play in the half.

After forcing another Old Dominion punt, Maryland got to work again. C.J. Brown completed a 14-yard pass to Deon Long, before a 33-yard pass over the middle to Diggs. Brown then lateraled to Diggs, who ran around for about twenty yards to get the six-yard gain. On the next play, Albert Reid received his first carry of the game, taking the inside zone read 27 yards for the touchdown, giving Maryland a 31-3 lead.
