Maryland Recruiting Roundup: Reed transfers schools, Onuaku visits Louisville

Our roundup from the weeks' recruiting action.

USA TODAY Sports

After a busy week involving three commitments, it was a fair assumption that Maryland's basketball and football recruiting efforts might be a bit slower moving into the first part of September. With the football season opening up, however, we've got updates from players visiting campus for the FIU game and playing their own games.

First, basketball:

2014 Maryland commitment Trayvon Reed has transferred to the Life Center Academy in Burlington (Nj.).

2014 center Chinanu Onuaku took an official visit to Louisvillle this week, and has plenty more lined up - he's scheduled to also check out Cincinnati and Miami. 247sports now considers him a Louisville lean.

Maryland seems out of the running for four-star 2014 power forward Martin Geben, who took an official visit to Notre Dame last week and will take an official visit to Virginia this weekend. He will likely choose between those two schools.

As expected, small forward Luis Montero has reclassified to 2013, signing with Westchester Community College for the year after taking classes to get his GED.

Five-star 2015 stud Cheick Diallo, a 6-9 power forward from New York, received an offer from Ohio State.

Now for football news:

A list of players who visited Maryland for Saturday's win over FIU - 2014 defensive end commit Brett Kulka, 2015 four-star offensive guard/defensive tackle Richie Petitbon, 2015 wide receiver Jabari Greenwood, and 2015 safety Ayron Monroe. All four were unofficial visits. Petitbon and Greenwod are both from Gonzaga (Dc.), while Monroe is from St. John's (Dc.).

2014 wide receiver Brandon Kuntz, from Trinity (Pa.) High School, caught 11 passes for 240 yards and three touchdowns in his team's opening loss. Kuntz has received interest from Maryland, but no offer yet.

2015 four-star defensive tackle/tight end Christian Wilkins received an offer from North Carolina.

2015 quarterback prospect Alex Mussat visited Michigan State for their opener, as did fellow 2015 quarterback prospect Ryan Brand. Both are from Michigan but have received interest from the Terps' coaching staff. Another 2015 quarterback, Brett Brumbaugh, visited West Virginia.

2015 defensive tackle Nick Dillon visited Iowa this week - his second visit there in the month of August.

2015 inside linebacker Reagan Williams visited Louisville.

A note - for the Big Boards, we're only including players that have been offered and have not eliminated Maryland from contention.
