The odds have been released for Maryland's second game of the season, and the Terps are 18.5-point favorites against the Old Dominion Monarchs, via OddsShark.
The Monarchs are currently in a transitional year to the FBS from the FCS, and Maryland is the second of five FBS teams Old Dominion will play this season. Starting with the 2014 season, Old Dominion will be members of Conference USA.
Maryland won their opening matchup, defeating FIU 43-10. Old Dominion lost theirs to East Carolina, 52-38.
The Monarchs went 11-2 last season in the FCS, eventually losing to Georgia Southern, 49-35 in the FCS quarterfinals. Quarterback Taylor Heinicke is the reigning Walter Payton Award winner - the Heisman of the FCS - and set Division I records in passing yards (730) and total yards (791) in a single game last season against New Hampshire.
Old Dominion struggled on defense, however, giving up more than 30 points per game in 2012. It could be a high-scoring affair in College Park this weekend, but Vegas seems to think it will go the Terrapins' way.
