Many of you are very familiar with the Justin Anderson story: four-star power forward from Montrose Christian considered one of the top prospects in the country commits to Maryland, does a Greivis shimmy in a game, starts to reconsider his decision with Gary Williams's retirement, and eventually commits to rival Virginia.
While not easily forgotten, it's a forgivable trespass -- Anderson committed to a Maryland team coached by Williams, not to one coached by Mark Turgeon, and it's a bit unreasonable to hold him to that if the program completely changes. This, however, is a bit different (h/t to Terps1019).
Never actually said this, but I'm so happy I picked to attend UVA over that other school I picked at first... #GoHoos #BestChoice #Blessed

(Transcript in case he deletes the tweet: Never actually said this, but I'm so happy I picked to attend UVA over that other school I picked at first... #GoHoos#BestChoice #Blessed)
As far as we can tell, the tweet was not in response to anything or coaxed by any action from Maryland.
My favorite part? Anderson saying "that other school" instead of Maryland, which is either the worst possible attempt to hide his diss (because literally everyone who would read this knows who "that other school" is) OR a further diss by refusing to mention Maryland by name.
Either way, it's a pretty weird incident that will surely add to the atmosphere to the last two conference games between the Terps and the Cavaliers this year. Maryland travels to Charlottesville February 10 on ESPN, and the Terps host Virginia in the season finale March 9 on CBS.
