There was no live feed from Maryland Basketball's exhibition win in the Bahamas last night. But this morning, we were treated to a highlight video from the game, which basically features Dez Wells making three ridiculous dunks. Also, Jake Layman scored 25 (!), Evan Smotrycz had a double-double, and the Terps won 92-84.
Obviously you can't take too much from this game or highlights, aside from the fact that Dez is awesome and maybe even stronger than last season. Apparently Dez made that last dunk at the end of the game to secure the win for the Terps. It's also nice to see Smotrycz getting a double-double. Having someone step in who can help Shaq, Mitchell and Dodd with the boards will be huge after losing Len. Again, I have no clue how good the team was they played, but it doesn't appear that defense was the focus of either team. Regardless, seems like things went well for their first time out this season.
We'll update you as we learn more about last night, but here's what the Maryland Basketball Facebook page had to say (they also provided the awesome video below. Make sure you've Liked them by clicking here)
Last night your Maryland Men's Basketball team brought the thunder to the Summer of Thunder Tournament in the Bahamas. Jake Layman led the Terps with 25 points and Junior forward Evan Smotrycz, a transfer from Michigan, posted a double-double with 12pts and 10 rbds...
While the Terps did go on to win 92-84, Dez Wells may have shook the island with his dunks, take a look!
