Maryland has opened as 15-point favorites in their opening week contest against Florida International. The over/under has been set at 54, and more details can be found at OddsShark.
The Golden Panthers went 3-9 last season - one win worse than Maryland's own 4-8 record. Former Illinois head coach Ron Turner takes over the FIU program this season, and is helming a program for the first time in nearly a decade, which may speak to the significant separation in the early odds.
Maryland is 3-0 all-time against Florida International, defeating the Panthers in 2010 (42-28), 2007 (26-10) and 2006 (14-10). The Terps have won each of their past three season openers. Florida International lost their opener last season at Duke 46-26.
