Via Alex Prewitt at the Post and Jeff Barker at the Sun, we have more details about Wes Brown's suspension from the University.
First up, Prewitt confirms what we thought - if Brown meets the mysterious "benchmarks", this will essentially serve as a redshirt season.
If Wes Brown meets these benchmarks and returns in January, it's effectively a redshirt year. "Think of it in that regard," his lawyer said.

Next up, from Barker - Brown is not only suspended from the team, but from the University, and he may enroll at a local community college to continue his schooling (good on him).
Brown may enroll in community college for semester but plans to return to Maryland for next season. #Terps

And finally, again from Barker, a little more clarity on what the suspension is for - not the open case in Baltimore, but his interaction with police in College Park (in which all charges were dropped).
Brown suspended for entirety of conduct in his dealing with police on July 3 who hoped to question him about Baltimore non-fatal shooting.
