Profiles in Terpage - A Countdown to the Football Season: JaJuan Dulaney

Our series continues with another incoming tackle.

24/7 Sports

We continue the series with another incoming offensive tackle.

JaJuan Dulaney, Freshman, Offensive Tackle, #54

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 270

Twitter: @JDulaney54

Collegiate Stats: N/A

High School Stats (Senior Year): 51 pancakes, one sack allowed

Recruiting Ratings: Three stars by Rivals, 24/7 (#44 OG, #74 in Ga.), Scout (#86 OT), and ESPN (#70 OG, #108 in Ga.)

High School: McEachern

Hometown: Powder Springs, Ga.

High School Highlights:

How'd he get to College Park?

Dulaney was a star left tackle in high school, who grabbed a handful of accolades after leading McEachern to an 8-3 record and a playoff appearance after his senior year. Ready for the list?

  • Georgia North/South All-Star Game
  • 2012 Georgia Sportswriters Association All-State Football Team
  • Atlanta Journal-Constitution All-State Team
  • All-state, all-region, all-county teams
  • Cobb County Senior Bowl
  • Team captain
  • McEachern offensive lineman of the year

For his efforts, Dulaney received offers from Cincinnati, East Carolina, FIU, Marshall, South Alabama, Troy, Western Kentucky, and, of course, Maryland. He received his Terrapin offer June 3, 2012, and committed five days later.

Career Highlight:

Getting offered by Maryland.

Dream Season:

Playing well enough to make the Terps consider moving Mike Madaras to the right tackle shuffle.

2013 Prospectus:

Dulaney is big like a tackle (at least weight-wise), but can move as well as a guard (which, with Maryland's guard depth issues, could help significantly), and it's a guarantee that he has a real place on Maryland's offensive line future.

Currently listed as the third-string left tackle, Dulaney is behind Ryan Doyle and starter Mike Madaras. Madaras, a former four-star prospect, is the hopeful future of Maryland's offensive line, and he played last year at the other tackle position. With Nick Klemm and a whole lot of uncertainty there now, it certainly wouldn't surprise to see Madaras or Dulaney move over to that slot, allowing both to start - it's not a stretch to say they're the two most talented tackles on the team.

That being said, Klemm is one of just two seniors on the line, so Randy Edsall and Tom Brattan might want to keep him up there. For years to come, however, it's something to look out for.

Our next player is from the same state as a talk show host who shares his first name.
