Bovada: Terps Have 66-to-1 Odds to Win ACC

Las Vegas doesn't think C.J. Brown and the Terps have much of a chance to win the ACC this season.

Bovada, a Las Vegas sportsbook, gives the Terrapins 66-to-1 odds of winning the Atlantic Coast Conference in the school's football season in the league. Clemson is the conference favorite at 19/10, with Florida State and Miami following at 5/2 and 7/2, respectively. The Terps are tied with ACC newcomer Syracuse for the tenth-best odds to win.

On a broader level, Bovada pegs Alabama as a whopping favorite to win its third consecutive national championship, giving the Crimson Tide 3-to-1 odds. Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M and Georgia round out the betting agency's group of the five likeliest BCS victors.

For Maryland, 66-to-1 might seem a little harsh because well-established mediocrities like Pitt and Virginia are given twice as good a chance (33/1) as the Terps to win the conference -- but these odds are in line with a thought I think most of us already had: A lot needs to go right for Maryland to win the conference.
