Profiles In Terpage - A Countdown to the Football Season: Roman Braglio

Our series continues with a redshirt defensive end who was one of the top high school DEs in the State of Maryland.

Today we profile a defensive lineman who redshirted last season.

Roman Braglio, Freshman (RS), Defensive Lineman, #90

Height: 6'3"

Weight: 250

Twitter: @CamoRo_90

Collegiate Stats: Redshirt

High School Stats (Senior Year): 83 tackles, 16 sacks, two defensive touchdowns

Recruiting Ratings: Three stars by Rivals (#16 in Md.), Scout (#67 DE), 24/7 (#23 in Md., #56 Strong-side DE), ESPN (#12 in Md., #66 DE)

High School: McDonogh

Hometown: Owings Mills, MD

High School Highlights:

How'd he get to College Park?

I'll let Pete handle that. From last year's profile on him:

Roman Braglio was one of the top defensive linemen in the state of Maryland, and thus attracted the attention of both Randy Edsall and defensive line coach Greg Gattuso, who was the head man in young defensive end's recruitment. Last season, he played in both the Chesapeake Bowl and the Crab Bowl, with three QB knockdowns in the former.

Braglio earned consensus all-state honors and was named first team all-met last year. He played on both sides of the line in high school, was one of the top wrestlers in the state, and also threw shot put. His only other listed offer was from West Virginia, but he also received interest from Penn State, Tennessee and Virginia, among others.

Career Highlight:

Committing to Maryland

Dream Season:

Roman is behind Quinton Jefferson, so he'll see some time on the field this season. Dream season would be 3 sacks, maybe an int.

2013 Prospectus:

With Quinton Jefferson and Keith Bowers locking up the starting DE spots, Braglio likely won't be starting, barring an injury. He should definitely see the field, however, after redshirting last season. He was one of the top defensive ends in the state out of high school and has the ability to get to the QB, recording 18 sacks his senior year. He should definitely be able to contribute this season, but just not in a starting role.

Up Next:

Our next profile features a player who was actually born in College Park and shares his last name with the first name of a super hero.
