According to @BallasTV, Maryland has extended an offer to 2017 superstar forward Tomas Murphy, out of Rhode Island. Murphy is playing with Mass Rivals 15U in Vegas currently at the Adidas Super 64 tournament. As a class of 2017 player, Murphy will be a freshman in high school next season.

Tomas is the brother of Erik and Alex and the son of Jay Murphy. Erik averaged 12.2 points and 5.5 rebounds at Florida this past year before being drafted by the Bulls, and Alex averaged 2.1 points and 1.0 rebounds at Duke this season. Jay was a star at Boston College before a pro career that included stints with the Clippers and the Bullets.

Murphy's first offer came from Rhode Island, and his only other high major offer comes from Boston College. He stands at 6'7" already but is expected to grow.
