A recurring series where we will profile every player on Maryland's roster, counting down to kick-off against Florida International on August 31. Thanks to OBNUG for the idea.
We have already finished the long snapping unit. Time flies. On to the other specialists.

High School Highlights:
How'd He Get to College Park?
Recruited by Florida, Arkansas, and NC State coming out of high school, Retzky ended up as a punter at Tulsa, where he redshirted last season, transferring to College Park after just one year. And that's...about all we know about Sam Retzky. Due to NCAA transfer rules, the best guess is that he sits out this year, but he is listed on the depth chart as a back-up punter so we're unsure if he got a waiver or not.
Nickname:
"Jet ski Retzky"
Career Highlight:
Getting out of Oklahoma.
Dream Season:
If he's eligible to play? Beating out Nate Renfro for the very up-for-grabs starting job. If not? Playing well enough in practice that it's a real competition next year.
2013 Prospectus:
Retzky is second on the current depth chart at punter, behind incumbent Nate Renfro. After a strong start, Renfro had a poor season last year, so his job is certainly not secure, but is Retzky eligible to play? My guess would be no (although again, this is a hard thing to find out), so don't expect to see any of the young punter this season. Instead, the hope is that he can put some heat on Renfro next season.
