Postgame: Another growing-up moment sends Terps into NIT semifinals

I said it last night on twitter and Alex Prewitt says it here - this team would have folded in a game like this a few months ago. This team is really growing and developing and the more games they play, the better they'll be next season. And in case you missed it, Maryland will play on April 2nd and I believe they'll be the 2nd game that day at the Garden. Tickets are available through the Terrapin Club here. I believe there is a special price that waves fees if you use the code word Terps.

Terps wide receiver Deon Long suspended for two weeks - baltimoresun.com
Ugh. Deon Long was suspended two weeks for violating University policy. Its a little worrisome to me that this was a violation of University policy, rather than breaking of team rules. Hopefully everything is okay...

Terps Women Beat Michigan State In 2nd Round " CBS Baltimore
Couldn't remember if we covered this or not. But Maryland's Alyssa Thomas finished with 28 points as the Lady Terps downed Michigan State at Comcast. Their reward? The chance to face UConn Saturday at 2:30. That's aways fun. Regardless of how tonight ends up, Brenda Frese deserves the coach of the year award for what she's done with a roster decimated by injuries this year.

University of Maryland doesn’t have copy of Big Ten contract - The Washington Post
So this is interesting - Apparently, Maryland doesn't have a copy of the new B1G contract on site. Why does that matter? Well, it gives the school a kind of loop hole when it comes to FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests. Since Maryland is a public university, they're subject to FOIA requests but if they don't have the documents on site, they don't have to provide anything and hence don't have to reveal what the terms of the new agreement are.

Schwarzmann Leads #1 Terps Past Towson

The Lady Terps Lax team continued their winning ways and downed Towson 11-8.

Former Terps’ Head Coach Gary Williams Talks NCAA Tournament " CBS Baltimore

Gary Williams joined Ed & Steve on 105.7 to talk about the NCAA tournament. You can listen to the audio, which I'd recommend, and why I included this. The text in the story is basically just "Steve asked this, Gary said this." Thanks for the transcript, guys.
