Maryland is a slight underdog for Friday's Military Bowl contest against Marshall, but the experts in Vegas predict it to be a tight game. Four of the six bookmakers listed on OddsShark have the Thundering Herd as 2.5-point favorites, with one at three points and another at two points. The over/under is even across all books, set as 62 points.
That seems to predict a final score somewhere around 32-29 or 33-30 Marshall -- high-scoring, but not too high scoring.
It's easy to see why the odds may fall this way -- Marshall is statistically superior in most categories (and has a star at quarterback), while also winning two more games than the Terps did during the regular season. Maryland has specific aspects in their favor as well -- they play in a better conference, have a higher level of talent and get the advantage of playing the game in Annapolis, where there will be plenty of Terp fans around.
We'll have our own preview up shortly, but a brief teaser -- Vegas and Testudo Times do not agree on the outcome here.
