Only football news this week, but tons of it.
If Twitter is to be believed -- and by itself it most certainly isn't -- Jalen Tabor has shockingly cut Maryland out of the picture, with Alabama and Arizona as his two remaining options (just search Twitter for his name, it's all there). The reality would appear to be more muddled -- Tabor may have named Alabama and Arizona as his top two options, but the Tabor camp has repeatedly made announcements to drum up interest in his decision date (as well they should). Is it fair to be slightly more worried about it than before? Sure, but we wouldn't read too much into it. Everything over the past year or so has suggested Tabor would end up in College Park, and such an abrupt change is hard to fully believe.
Tabor has said he will make his decision by Christmas, but will announce in early January at the Under Armour All-American Game.
The Terrapins appear to be in back-up plane mode, offering 2014 Virginia cornerback Daniel Ezeagwu, who has offers from Virginia, Old Dominion Towson and James Madison.
Maryland got one commitment this week -- three-star offensive tackle Sean Christie, from New York. For those wondering about the three star rating, it is new. When Maryland received the commitment, he was unrated. Now, Christie gets a shiny three-star rating, and is considered the 134th-best tackle in the country and the 14th-best player in the state.
Florida State has picked up another JuCo offensive lineman, three-star guard Kareem Are. SB Nation recruiting editor and managing editor of Tomahawk Nation Bud Elliott tells me the 'Noles are looking to add around eight offensive linemen in the class, and Are makes it six (not including a long snapper), so don't count that as a definitive sign that five-star 2014 tackle Damian Prince (who most peg as a competition between Maryland and the Seminoles) is headed to College Park.
The Terps have offered a new player -- two-star long snapper Nate Adams, who also has an offer from Air Force.
Three targets went elsewhere -- Marcus Applefield (Rutgers), Brock Ruble (Florida State) and Dravon Henry (West Virginia).
Five-star 2014 offensive tackle Damian Prince received an in-home visit from South Carolina. Five star 2014 cornerback Jalen Tabor took an official visit to Alabama.
Maryland had an in-home visit with 2015 New Jersey quarterback Ryan Adzima.
Commits Tyler Burke and Jared Cohen each took official visits to Maryland.
JuCo tackle commit Larry Mazyck has been named a first team NJCAA All-American.
2014 three-star safety target Shawn Boone is down to Penn State and N.C. State.
