High School Highlights:

How'd She Get to College Park?

A'Lexus was en elite recruit, rated No. 28 nationally by Blue Star Report and a four-star on ESPN rated No. 70 overall and the No. 18 forward in her class. Besides Maryland, she considered West Virginia, Rutgers, and Miami, but committed to Brenda Frese very early, way back in summer of 2010 after her freshman year of high school. She hadn't planned on committing then, but was so impressed with a visit to College Park that when Frese offered her a scholarship on the visit she accepted it on the spot. She says Maryland has been her dream school since she was 12.

Dream Season:

A'Lexus isn't likely to crack the starting line-up at any point so long as the Terps stay healthy, but she has the potential to be a strong presence coming off the bench. Her dream season would be making a smooth adjustment to college ball and being a consistent force down low in the minutes she gets, showing off the prowess that made her an elite recruit coming out of high school.

2013 Prospectus:

A'Lexus was a double-double machine in high school, grabbing 20+ rebounds seven times and as many as 25 in one game. The Terps have been a very strong rebounding team in recent years and she should only help that. At 6'0," she's the teams smallest forward or center, but she should be able to make up for it with her athleticism. She had a 4.03 GPA in high school and seems like she'll be a smart player with a high basketball IQ. She should provide great depth for this front court and has three senior bigs that she can spend the year learning from.
