How'd She Get to College Park?

Brionna was ranked as the number 55 overall player on's HoopGurlz list and the number 7 post player. On her way to being names the Baltimore Sun All-Metro player of the year as a junior, she led Aberdeen to the Maryland AAA state championship while averaging 23.5 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 4.2 blocks per game. Brionna will fit right in at Maryland. She missed much of her senior year after tearing an ACL in January. She chose the Terps over Virginia, Georgetown, South Carolina, and Delaware.

Dream Season:

Brenda chooses to keep two posts on the floor and Brionna gets plenty of playing time alongside either Alicia DeVaughn or Malina Howard. Brionna helps Maryland continue its tradition of being among the best rebounding teams in the country picking up about five boards and a couple of baskets per game.

2013 Prospectus:

Brionna is already beginning to benefit from Maryland's fitness regimen and close observers can see her body beginning to reshape. Brionna may get some run early to get a feel for the college game as she continues to work her way back from her knee injury. Although she has a lot of upside, I wouldn't be surprised to see her get limited minutes against some of the more physical teams the Terps will face or in games where Brenda wants to push the pace.
