Chloe Talks to Zack Ward of Swish Appeal:
How'd She Get to College Park?
Coach Frese and her staff clearly saw something in Chloe that many of the recruiting services missed. ESPN's HoopGurlz.com rated her as the 23rd point guard in their 2012 rankings. She chose Maryland after considering Miami (FL), Notre Dame, Florida State, Louisville and Xavier.
Career Highlight:
I'm going to put up two highlights for Chloe. First, she made her debut as a starter in a nationally televised game against UConn in Hartford and acquitted herself well scoring 10 points on 5 for 10 shooting and dishing out 3 assists with only four turnovers. Second, she scored a career high 20 making 8 of 11 shots in a January game against then twenty-fourth ranked Miami (FL).
Dream Season:
In her dream season Chloe will produce similar numbers to her freshman campaign while averaging 15-18 minutes a game moving between playing the one and two spots.
2013 Prospectus:
When Maryland lost both Brene Moseley and Laurin Mincy to season ending injuries, Chloe was thrown into the fire in a way that neither she nor the coaching staff could expect and, I think exceeded expectations making the All-ACC Freshman team. Competition for playing time will be stiff this season with the return of Mincy and Moseley, a more experienced Sequoia Austin, and the addition of Lexie Brown to the mix. Still, based on her performance from last season, Chloe has certainly earned playing time - particularly early in the season. If she continues to be productive, Coach Frese will find a way to continue to get her playing time.
