C.J. Brown, four other starters out for Maryland against Clemson

The Terps enter their homecoming game significantly hobbled.

Those thinking there must have been something wrong with C.J. Brown during his lackluster performance against Wake Forest appear to have been right -- the quarterback is out with a trunk injury for Maryland's upcoming homecoming game against Clemson, the school announced in their weekly injury report.

That means Caleb Rowe will get the starting nod for Maryland under center, which means you can expect a whole lot of throwing and not much of the read option.

Also out for Maryland? Starting linebacker L.A. Goree, starting safety Anthony Nixon, starting tight end Dave Stinebaugh and starting running back Brandon Ross. Cornerback Jeremiah Johnson is also still out, and will likely return against Syracuse after the bye.

The good news? Fullback Tyler Cierski is not listed on the report, meaning he may play for the first time this season, and injured linebackers Matt Robinson and Alex Twine are both listed as probable, giving a beleaguered linebacking corps some much needed depth.
