How'd He Get to College Park?
Barks was a walk on for Maryland and joined the team in 2011, Mark Turgeon's first season as Maryland's head coach. He was actually a really important player in practice for Maryland, who had five walk-ons that season as they searched for players to fill in spots on the team so they could hold practices. Barks has worked very hard and actually earned a scholarship this season, which was well deserved.

Dream Season:
A dream season for Barks would be seeing several minutes each game because Maryland is up big late in the 2nd half. Also, continuing to be an amazing source for entertainment ("There is so much room for activities!").
2013 Prospectus:
In all likelihood, Barks will be buried on the depth chart at forward behind the likes of Jake Layman, Evan Smotrycz, Damonte Dodd, Jonathan Graham (if he gets a waiver) and John Auslander. Barks will likely see action earlier in the season, likely during games in which the Terps are well in control of the game late in the 2nd half.
Up Next:
Our next player played briefly for D.C. Assault and his hometown has a dorm named after it on campus.
