Sequoia Austin, Senior, Guard, #0

Height: 5'5"

Collegiate Stats: 1.8 ppg, .6 rpg, .41 apg

High School: Holton Arms School

Hometown: Greenbelt, MD

Surprising Talent:

How'd She Get to College Park?

After being named twice as a Washington Post All-Met Honorable Mention, Sequoia walked on to the 2010-2011 Terps bringing a level of energy and work ethic that earned her a scholarship midway through her freshman season.

Career Highlight:

Sequoia scored 15 points in 22 minutes in Maryland's final regular 2012 season game against Wake Forest.

Dream Season:

It will be hard for Sequoia to top her contributions from last season, but a dream senior year for her would be to see the role she played as a junior continue, being a consistent spark off the bench for the Terps.

2013 Prospectus:

The Terps look to be loaded at guard for 2013-2014 with Brene Moseley and Laurin Mincy returning from injury and the addition of Lexi Brown bolstering an experienced backcourt tandem of Chloe Pavlech and Katie Rutan. Sequoia played the most minutes of her career last season but shouldn't expect a repeat this season.
