Maryland linebacker Alex Twine will miss Saturday's game against Wake Forest with a shoulder injury, the team announced through their weekly injury report.
Twine is yet another in a series of injuries to the Terrapin defense, especially in the linebacking corps. He had been replacing starter Matt Robinson at SAM, who also suffered a shoulder injury, while it was announced earlier in the week that top pass rusher (and WILL backup) Yannick Cudjoe-Virgil would miss the year with an upper body injury.
Twine has been a strong presence in Maryland's front seven since his freshman year, and has averaged five tackles per game this season. His replacement will be true freshman Cavon Walker, who has six tackles this season.
Walker and Yannick Ngakoue are both true freshmen from Friendship Collegiate Academy in DC, and will both see their roles expanded in a big way Saturday in a tough ACC road game. They will be aided by two juniors starting at inside linebacker and a senior (Marcus Whitfield) starting in front of Ngakoue at WILL.
Also notable -- C.J. Brown is not listed at all, while Tyrek Cheeseboro and Tyler Cierski are still out.
