2014 Florida DB Shawn Boone to take fifth official visit to Maryland

The Terps receive good news on the recruiting front.

Maryland has been recruiting three-star 2014 Floridian safety Shawn Boone for a while now, but seemed to be on the outside looking in in his recruitment. That no longer is the case.

Boone had set up four of his five official visits -- NC State, Arkansas, Ohio State and Ole Miss -- and it looked like he was either not going to pick a fifth or go in a different direction. Good news for Maryland, as he will be visiting College Park on October 26 for the Clemson game, via his 247sports player page.

Listed at 5'10" and 185 pounds, Boone is considered the 80th-best safety in the country and the 130th-best player in the state of Florida. The Terps need additional depth in the secondary heading into the Big Ten next year, and Boone would be a marquee pickup for the class despite the three-star label -- the Ohio State offer tells you all you need to know.

You can officially slot Boone in under the "big names" section of our big board, with the likes of Jalen Tabor and Damian Prince. Check out Boone's highlight footage here.
