We have a jam packed MM today as it's been awhile. Behold basketball recruiting news, Edsall/Hotseat discussion, and injury analysis!
InsideMDSports: Terps offer is 'very exciting' for local guard Romelo Trimble - baltimoresun.com
IMS' free weekly feature on the Baltimore Sun, this time featuring a story on Romelo Trimble. - DT
My Take: It seems Turge is recruiting a handful of top local guards for 2014 -- Phil Booth, Dion Wiley, and now Trimble. Terps appear to be in great shape with all three at the moment. Recruiting sure is fun these days!
Does Randy Edsall get a pass this year?; Mailbag - Stewart Mandel - SI.com
Interesting question and one that we'll probably get into more in depth in the coming weeks. I think Edsall has a built in excuse now if the team only wins, say, 4 games. He can spin small improvement as a significant improvement when factored in with all the injuries. I do, however, agree with Mandel that Edsall is unlikely to survive another 2-10 season.
50 in 50 rankings: No. 27 Maryland - College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN
So ESPN is doing a series on the top 50 college basketball programs in the last 50 years. The Terps showed up at #27 yesterday. Seem a bit low to anyone else? And how in God's name is Princeton a better program over the last 50 years than Maryland?

NCAA expands investigation of Nerlens Noel recruiting - ESPN
This has big implications for Maryland for one reason and one reason only: the Terps take on UK at the new Barclay's Center to open the season. Any suspension for Noel means the Wildcats will be without their star freshman when they take on Maryland Nov. 9.
I think I'd rather Noel play, though. I want to beat these guys at full strength and seeing the Noel vs. Alex Len matchup would be highly entertaining.

Terps commitment Andrew Isaacs is 'the total package' at tight end - baltimoresun.com
Profile of tight end commit Andrew Isaacs, who recently switched his commitment to Maryland from Boston College because of the Terps' broadcast journalism program. - DT
Despite injuries, Terps safety Matt Robinson fights to become leader - Baltimore Sun

Critical Coaches: Which player's recruitment is perceived dirtiest of past decade? - CBSSports.com
This series has been been pretty enlightening from CBS College Basketball. Basically, they interviewed 100+ D1 basketball coaches off the record and asked them controversial questions. Yesterday's looked at the dirtiest recruitment's of the past decade. Can you guess which recruitments the Terps were once involved with that ended up making the list? I'll give you a two word hint: Born. Ready.
Terps Picked First in ACC Preseason Poll
At least the ACC soccer coaches don't show a North Carolina bias. They picked Maryland as the preseason favorite to claim the 2012 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Championship. - DT
