Well, both Sam and his coach at Notre Dame Prep said he in fact did commit. So he definitely committed. So, two options: either no one bothered to tell Papa Sam and he unwittingly parroted the party line (which is possible, I guess, given that they don't live together when Sam's at Notre Dame Prep) or Papa Sam is overriding it and demanding him to take a few comparison visits (perhaps to his ol' alma mater of Florida State). (I guess the third road is: he's committed but still has to take visits. Which is a fancy way of saying he's not committed.) I expect he'll still be a Terrapin, but this is a strange and not necessarily good situation. Bad luck for the basketball program with the parents. Literally the exact opposite of the gridiron.
