Well, folks, it's finally here. After weeks of uncertainty the ACC has released its 2012 football schedule. There are no major surprises as we already knew the Terps' home and away ACC opponents, but with today's release of the schedule we now know the order of those games.
Without further ado, here it is:
William and Mary (9/1)
AT Temple (9/8)
Connecticut (9/15)
AT West Virginia (9/22)
BYE WEEK (9/29)
Wake Forest (10/6)
AT Virginia (10/13)
NC State (10/20)
AT Boston College (10/27)
Georgia Tech (11/3)
AT Clemson (11/10)
Florida State (11/17)
AT North Carolina (11/24)
The two biggest things that stand out to me are a very tough stretch in November (GT, @ Clemson, FSU) and the fact that the Terps alternate back and forth between home and away games every week of the season. The slew of tough games at the back end of the season should actually favor the Terps as CJ Brown will have time to acclimate himself with the new offense before facing the ACC's best.
I'm not exactly sure what to make of the alternating home/away games. Maybe, if nothing else, it will give the Terps some structure and consistency.
Overall, I see about 6 wins here. What say you?
