Ron Darby meeting with Maryland and Mike Locksley
Landing Ronald Darby, much like landing Eddie Goldman or Stefon Diggs, would be mind-numblingly awesome, especially after seeing where he ended up in the updated Scout and 247 rankings over the past few days (#9 on Scout, #16 on 247). I've always considered him the least likely of the big three, though: he's the only one to commit somewhere else over Maryland, the only one without a teammate or two in his ear, and of course he'll be influenced by the track program, of which Maryland is currently without. It'll be a massive challenge for Locksley, but if anyone turn him, it's probably Locks. - BB
247 Releases Final 2012 Football Rankings
The whole list is worth checking out but of interest to Terp fans are:
Stefon Diggs - #10
Eddie Goldman - #14
Ronald Darby - #16
Wes Brown - #171
Of those top 3 uncommitted, the Terps probably have the best shot with Diggs. Would be a HUGE pickup.
Coach: Terps running back commitment Albert Reid is 'a complete back'
High school coaches always have positive things to say about their players but I'm particularly excited about Albert Reid. Between him and Wes Brown, the Terps should be stacked at running back for years to come.
Terrapins withstand second-half charge by Demon Deacons to win, 70-64 - The Washington Post
In case you want a little more coverage from the win last night. Or you just want to read awesome quotes from Mark Turgeon.
"I’m trying to make Terrell a man," Turgeon said. "There are responsibilities out of basketball you have to do. We’ll see if it helps him. It’s nothing major, but the kid needs to grow up."
Maryland back in mix with nation's best- ESPN
With all the upheaval surrounding the men's programs it's been easy to forget about the women's basketball team. They're quietly putting together their best season in years: 16-0 and ranked 5th in the nation.
Chivas USA Select Casey Townsend With No. 5 Pick
To anyone who's even a casual supporter of Maryland soccer the name Casey Townsend should be familiar. The Terps' leading goal scorer was taken 5th overall by Chivas USA, a MLS squad based out of Carson, California.
