Well, I didn't expect this to happen so soon, but here it is: Maryland's season is finished. Yeah, it hurts, but the world keeps spinning. I keep blogging, Gary Williams and his assistants go back to work, and N.C. State fans continue to have inflated expectations of their program, just like normal.
For Gary & Co., that means more of focus on recruiting, with guys like Justin Anderson and Shaquille Cleare coming to the forefront. It actually means the same for us, too; if you're new to Testudo, the summer and spring headlines are mainly dominated by recruiting because, well, there's not much else to talk about. If you don't know anything about it, you probably will before long. The same goes for football recruiting, which has gotten off to a blazing start.
I'll try to rebuild the databases (and update them regularly), though I'm not making any promises about it. It's tough stuff.
We'll also talk about lax (showdown with UNC on 3-26!), women's basketball (selection show tonight!), and maybe even a little baseball (just got swept by GT!). Spring football is just around the corner, too, and since people seem to care about that again, we'll have a lot devoted to it. And yes, I'm fully prepared to take the first "Danny O'Brien for ACC Player of the Year" plunge. Get on the bandwagon now.
Of course, if anything comes up in the news, we'll be here with our normal thoughts about it, too. Basically, we'll be the same Testudo Times you know and love.
And for N.C. State, I suppose that means setting their sights way too high, whiffing on high-profile candidates, and ending up with Cuonzo Martin or Ed Cooley. At least we can still make fun of them, right?
