Maryland Minute 3.13.11: More on Terrapins' NIT Absence, CBI Decline

Maryland will decline CBI
Mentioned this earlier, but it deserves some reiteration. The Terrapins' basketball season is done. No NIT, no NCAA, no nothing. Thus ends the longest-running postseason play streak in the ACC.

Gary on being left out
Part one linked above:

Gary: ""After 19 wins and beating Penn State, Florida State and Clemson, it’s disappointing that we’re not at least in the NIT. ..."

Also:

More Gary: " ... We played right with Duke for 35 minutes and got a win in the ACC Tournament, it’s kind of surprising we weren’t selected."

Greg Whittington Commits to Georgetown
Some people will say this is piling on, but I never really felt excited about Whittington. Poor competition, plus Breunig fills the same spot. With Hubert probably heading to UNC, I guess we're just waiting on Wally Judge.

Recruiting Report: McDonogh's Roman Braglio talks Terps pledge
Greg Gattuso sounds awesome.

"I kind of walked out, started thinking about it, walked back in, and [Gattuso] said, ‘What’s wrong?’ I said, ‘Coach, I want to be a Terp.’ He ran over and hugged me and picked me up, carried me to Coach Edsall."

MLax: Terps Defeat Towson, 8-4
Not quite the margin I would've hoped for, but the Terps move to 4-1 on the year. They have two more rather easy games against UMBC and St. Joe's before a showdown with UNC.

Horrible timing, in retrospect, but hey, gives you an excuse to rewatch the Drew Nicholas Shot.
