Maryland Minute - 02.07.11 - Several Questions About the Basketball Team

Terrapins Insider - Talkin' Terps: Stoglin or Howard at point?
Personally, I like Pe'Shon at the point. I think he's a better passer, looks to dish rather than dribble-drive or shoot as a first option, and his outside shot is better than Stoglin right now. I think Stoglin should come off the bench as the #6 or #7 guy. By the time they're seniors, I think Pe'Shon will be running the point at Stoglin will be your #2 guard.

Capital One Cup - Impact Player of the Week
Capital One Cup's impact player of the week has Jordan Williams as a nominee this week for his 27 pt, 15 rebound performance against Wake. He's currently leading with 53% of the vote, so help out your fellow Terp and vote for him!

Martin Breunig 2011 Highlights: Sign Him Up
He's Dino Gregory plus a post game and the ability to dribble. Seriously, his combination of back-to-the-basket moves and face-up game, plus that athleticism, is very difficult to find. He might not be all the way there yet, but he's got a very impressive base. Worth a watch (starts to get really good about halfway through, when he's posterizing people one play and hitting a 17-footer the next). -BB

NCAA Basketball Bracketology: Tournament Seeding Continues To Shuffle, Just Not At The Top - SBNation.com
...we're not even in the 1st eight out. I'm tell you folks, I'm still going to be worried if we're sitting at 11-5 and our 5th loss is to UNC. I think UNC is a must win game for us...

Terrapins Insider - Talkin' Terps: The missing piece of the puzzle
Good question - what is missing from this year's team? I'd say a consistent 3-point shooting threat.

Stepping out of conference: Terps get rare mid-February game - D1scourse.com
Good piece as always by Patrick Stevens about the now rare February out of conference game. Thought this nugget was noteworthy. Sure do wish they'd start playing a game a season up in Baltimore again...

Feb. 28, 1998: Maryland 83, Temple 66. For eight consecutive seasons, Maryland played one of its home games at the Baltimore Arena. This was one of them. Because of a scheduling quirk, some ACC team didn't have a conference game on the final weekend of the season. In this case, it was the the Terps. Laron Profit had 21 points and Rodney Elliott added 20 as Maryland added one more tough game to what was the nation's toughest schedule that season.

Curse you Barker! I was going to ask Gary about the random Longwood game!

South Williamsport's Tierney Pfirman pleased to be headed to Maryland - SunGazette.com - Williamsport-Sun Gazette
Good job Brenda. You're a recruiting machine.

Seminole Slant: Maryland Terrapins' Coaching Changes - Tomahawk Nation
Always interesting to hear another fan's perspective about your team. I offered my response in the comments, which was well received by their readers. Just a reminder, if you don't agree with what is written, make a case (as I did) for why that's the case and don't personally attack anyone on there (or don't comment at all). We don't want to start a war with them.

Women’s Basketball: Kizer earns weekly honor " Terrapin Trail
Lynetta Kizer was the ACC Player of the week. She's good.

Faceoff: Q&A with ESPN's Quint Kessenich
A nice preview of the upcoming lacrosse season. Quint's got Maryland at #3, with UVA at #2, and Syracuse as top dog. -BB
