He left without a deal, remember, but Yanda is reporting that the two sides "drew close to an agreement" on Thursday. Again, this is very obviously good, and I doubt you need me telling you that.

Source telling me that this Randy Shannon-to-Maryland-is-a-done-deal stuff is a bit premature.

Of course, you'd assume this is on the Miami side of things, which I imagine would be more tuned into Shannon. We'll see.

Breaking: Watson to Transfer - Terrapin Station
Talk about lack of depth at TE. Maryland has two now - Stinebaugh and Furstenburg. Yikes. Crowton's offense means TEs aren't that important, but he still makes use of them. Getting at least one TE, if not two, should be a priority for 2012.

Meanwhile, Lansford's career has been one of the most disappointing in recent memory, at least relative to the expectations he had coming in. Best of luck to him in the future.
